It’s “Wear It Yourself” Wednesday! I have to say, I think this is going to be my favorite day because it’s so much fun to share my little projects with you guys. 🙂 Yesterday, I was inspired to finally try the half moon manicure on myself. I’ve seen tons of pictures of this simple manicure, but for some reason I’d never tried it. Turns out it was way more difficult than I had anticipated. Granted, it really wasn’t that hard, but I thought it’a be simple and would take at most a half hour. Wrong. I had a difficult time trying to get the reinforcement stickers off and creating a neat, uniform circle at the bottom of my nail. Even though I had difficulty doing this manicure, I absolutely love the results! It’s so elegant and adds the right amount of flare to your nails without overdoing it. I will definitely be doing this again. After all, practice makes perfect, right? 🙂

Step 1) Apply a base coat.
Step 2) Apply 1-2 coats of base color (“moon” color) and let dry for 45 minutes to an hour.
Step 3) Place reinforcement labels at the bottom of each nail (Tip: Stick the reinforcements on your skin a couple times to take away some of their adhesive. This will help to prevent the stickers from ruining your base color.)
Step 4) Apply the second color (a.k.a. the color you do not want the half moons to be), let dry and then apply a top coat.
