Feeling Patriotic

The U.S. Capitol Building just before sunrise
Hey, strangers! Long time no talk. I apologize for the lack of posts lately. This past weekend my boyfriend and I took a trip to Washington D.C. to visit a friend. I’ve never visited before, and to say I was amazed would be an understatement. Now, I’m not one to get into politics and I was always bored to the max when in history class. But taking this trip changed my thoughts completely. Of course, I’ve seen pictures of Washington D.C., but seeing the city in person was completely different. The architecture is so beautiful and literally took my breath away. We were fortunate enough to take a tour of the U.S. Capitol Building. That was by far my favorite part of the entire trip because we were able to walk down the same stairs President Obama walked on the way to his inauguration. I got chills just thinking about the significance of that walk. We could see the new stage being built for the inauguration to come in January. We were only in town for two days, and we saw so much on the first day alone that we were completely exhausted the rest of the trip. We saw the White House, the Capitol Building, the Lincoln Memorial, part of the Smithsonian, the Washington Monument, the F.D.R. Memorial, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, and that’s just to name a few. I only took one photo of my outfit because it rained and then turned warm, and the combination of the two did nothing good for my hair. I hope you enjoy the other pictures, though! I’m trying to stop myself from telling you guys about the entire trip because I could go on and on. Basically, seeing Washington D.C. and learning about its history and our country’s history was an amazing experience. I’d love to go again!
