Day in the Life #1

Sometimes when I read other blogs, one of my favorite types of posts I see is a “Day in the Life.” I think we’re all naturally a little nosey (okay, a lot nosey), and we want to know what happens during the day in someone else’s life. Why else do we have Instagram and Twitter? While these social media platforms provide a quick and easy way to let people know you’re eating a panini or creeping on your cat, blog posts about people’s days normally go into detail and give more insight into each of our own experiences. With all of that being said, I figured I’d do one of these kinds of posts, in case anyone is curious as to how my day went. I’ll tell you what, though, I am not one to whip out my phone or camera and take selfies or multiple pictures of my everyday life, so remembering to do so today was actually pretty difficult. Don’t get me wrong, I like posting pictures on Instagram every once in a while, but it’s not a natural reaction for me to reach for my camera and snap a picture of whatever might be going on. I really admire those who take beautiful, artful pictures for social media, but I find myself just living out those moments rather than snapping a photo of them. Sometimes I regret this because I want to savor and remember certain moments forever, but sometimes I’m also glad because I think I would have missed out on quite a few fun moments had I been worried about the finding the perfect pose or filters. I guess my point of that little speech is to make sure you take snapshots of the moments that you want to treasure but also make sure you’re living out those moments as well. Anyways, here are a few moments from my day today.

1.) I decided to try a different take on the half-moon manicure. I saw a few pictures of girls sporting this manicure for NYFW, and I just think it looks so sleek for fall. I won’t lie, I admired my nail multiple times today. I will definitely be wearing this look for fall.

2.) Today was a bit of a hectic day at work and I was definitely in need of a pick-me-up. Pumpkin iced coffees are my jam right now, of course. PUMPKIN EVERYTHING!!

3.) I am so blessed to have a husband who actually enjoys cooking because I am not very skilled at it, and to be honest, I don’t really have an interest in learning too much. (At least for the time being.) However, Adam really enjoys cooking and experimenting with different foods and spices, and tonight he whipped up some delicious stir fry. I chose to nix the rice, but it was still amazing!

4.) I went for a comfy, casual look today. The blouse is from H&M, jeans are from Chico’s, flats are from Payless, necklace is from my mom (I’m not sure where it’s from), and earrings are Forever 21.
