Summer is quickly coming to an end, and I, for one, am very sad to see it go. Usually, I am all about fall and all the excitement it brings. Mandi was telling me how excited she is to wear boots and scarves, but I’m just not there yet. I feel like I just put those items in storage for the spring and summer seasons, and now you’re telling me I have to get them back out again? It makes me sad. I will say, I’m not as sad for summer to come to an end as I used to be when I was in school. It was always depressing to see those first back to school commercials appear on t.v. It was just a reminder that your freedom was approaching its end.

On the bright side, I was always super excited to wear all my new clothes we had just purchased for the beginning of the year. Planning my outfit for the first day of school was very crucial. It had to be equal parts “I’m ready to take on this new school year!” and “I don’t care TOO much.” I wanted to put together a couple outfits to hopefully give some inspiration to those of you who are still in school, either high school or college, and are putting together your outfit for the first day. I also thought it’d be nice to include a “first day on the job” outfit, in case anyone is starting a new job soon.

Now, let me just say this, I actually really loved school when I was in high school. I didn’t really mind doing projects, writing papers, or taking tests. I got a tremendous amount of satisfaction from organizing all of my schoolwork and supplies and completing homework. It wasn’t really until my second year of college that I started to dislike school. Going to college is important in furthering your education, but I’m not going to lie, you get pretty tired of school once you hit the “14th” grade. I know that’s not the case for everyone (Mandi secretly mourns the beginning of each school year because she isn’t a student anymore). All I can say is, make the most of this upcoming school year. You’ll realize when you’re out of school how important your education was and still is. And enjoy spending time with your friends! That was always my favorite part no matter what grade I was in.

Good luck to everyone starting school or a new job  soon!
