So yesterday, I mentioned we’ve had a couple big changes going on. If you follow me on Instagram then you already know about this one. We got a dog!! We’re now the proud owners of Penelope “Penny” the Labradoodle. I’ve always loved Labradoodles, and upon doing some research, we decided this would be the breed best suited for our family. So far she’s been such a joy and a serious goofball sometimes! We’ve had her for about three weeks now and she is in the prime of her puppyhood. You guys will be seeing lots of her in future posts and definitely on my Instagram!
I’ve heard before that brown and black are not to be paired together. Just call me a rule breaker! I love the look of this flowy top with these structured riding boots. I added the cheetah print necklace to tie in the brown and black colors. As you guys know, I like to link everything so that you can purchase any pieces you see that you might like. It’s no secret I try to stick to a budget, which means I can’t always buy the most current items in stores. If I can’t find the exact item anymore, I try to link items that are identical or at least very similar. I wish they could all be the exact same pieces as what I’m wearing, but alas, I just don’t have the money to constantly be shopping. I hope you guys understand. Just trying to be real here! Ok, just needed to put that out there so you guys know. Happy Monday! Start the week off great.
Hey, everyone! As you all know, Halloween is quickly approaching. If you’re anything like me, you will be putting your costume together last minute. Props to those who put hours into their costumes and are super creative. I’m a big fan of simplicity and using what I already have in my closet, unless I can find something cheap that will go along with whatever look I’m going for. The hardest part for me is trying to come up with a costume idea that’s easy enough to recreate in a short amount of time. So, I thought it might be helpful to give you guys a couple ideas for last minute costumes that involve pieces you probably already have.

The title is corny, but I just had to! You guys know I mention Mandi quite a bit on here. Well, it’s because she’s my best friend, duh! We are so similar it’s crazy. One of our most obvious similarities is that we are both pretty darn short. (Thus the title.) I absolutely love her style, and I always turn to her with fashion questions. I so badly want her to start her own blog! Don’t worry, I’m still trying to talk her into it. She has some great fashion tips, tricks, and ideas.
Mandi came to visit over the weekend, and as usual, we shopped till we dropped. Also, I don’t think we stopped talking from the time she arrived until after she left. There’s always just so much to talk about and catch up on, especially now that we’re in a little bit of a long distance relationship (sad face). As soon as I opened the door and saw her outfit I was dying. I love the pink vest with the flannel! It’s a great way to add a pop of bright color in a season that is usually filled with dark hues. I was also admiring her cute little top knot. Sadly, I have yet to master this hairstyle, but she pulled it off perfectly!
I always love when Mandi comes to visit. Words can’t express how much I appreciate her friendship! You all should comment and tell Mandi to start her own blog!
Yesterday, we visited some friends in the city. It’s always fun to catch up with friends you haven’t seen in quite a while, and these ones just happen to be some of our favorites! We grabbed dinner at a unique place that had seats right next to these huge open windows. The weather was beautiful in the evening and made for the perfect environment to walk around a bit.
Bri, the girl who designed the awesome banner for my blog, is also a photographer and was giving Adam some lessons for future outfit posts. He’s been talking about the techniques ever since, and channeling his “inner photographer.” The picture above was taken by Bri on her iPhone and I love how it turned out. She’s really got a talent for photography!
It always feels so good to get away for a bit and do some things you don’t always get to do, like have dinner with some old friends. It was a quick visit but a great one as usual. I hope you all are having a great week. And if not, hang in there! It’s almost the weekend.
