Red lips and leopard print are a must for fall and winter in my opinion. Let’s be honest, leopard print is always a must for me. My mother-in-law bought this sweater for me last year and it is so cozy! I paired it with one of my quilted vests for some added warmth on one of the chillier days we’ve had so far. You can’t go wrong with an all black outfit, but I wanted to add just a touch of color for some interest (even if that “color” is gray). Whenever I wear black, I love to pop on some red lipstick and this one is my favorite. Oh and of course I had to get a picture with my favorite girl!

Penelope

So yesterday, I mentioned we’ve had a couple big changes going on. If you follow me on Instagram then you already know about this one. We got a dog!! We’re now the proud owners of Penelope “Penny” the Labradoodle. I’ve always loved Labradoodles, and upon doing some research, we decided this would be the breed best suited for our family. So far she’s been such a joy and a serious goofball sometimes! We’ve had her for about three weeks now and she is in the prime of her puppyhood. You guys will be seeing lots of her in future posts and definitely on my Instagram!

Day in the Life #2

DITL Collage

Have you ever been driving in the car and a certain song comes on, and it puts you in a mood where you just think deeply about life? That happens to me every time I make the drive to my parents’ house. I love listening to music on the drive, and I always have a few songs that just put me in that mood where I think about everything going on in my life. Sometimes they’re good thoughts, sometimes apprehensive, sometimes sad, sometimes ecstatic. Today was one of those days with good thoughts, great even. Spending time with my parents is always so comforting, even when nothing’s going on. It was great to be with them all day and then to come home to my husband. Like I said in my post a few days ago, I feel so blessed with the family I’ve been given. I hope you all had a wonderful day today and are having a great week so far!

1.) I love making the drive down to see my parents, especially early in the morning. Seeing the sun come up is absolutely stunning.

2.) My mom, my sister, and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Panera Bread before spending the day shopping. I let myself indulge in a frappucino-esque drink, and it was delicious! I’m a sucker for bagels, as well, so…oops.

3.) Of course, a trip to Target was necessary. Who can go shopping and not stop at Target? It’s a must every time Mandi and I go out, and my mom and sister enjoy it, too! (Along with every other woman I know.)

4.) I tried on lots of cute pieces while at Target. They had some great sales going on, and I couldn’t resist! I felt silly taking a picture while trying on clothes, but this was part of my day, so here ya go. Keep an eye out for some of my new purchases to be in future posts!

Coco Collage

Adam and I don’t have any pets, so I cherish every minute I get to spend with our family dog when I go to my parents’. Her name is Coco, and as you can see, she is very good at giving the puppy eyes when she wants food. She may look cute and innocent, but you can tell in the next picture that she’s only got one thing on her mind. What a cutie!
