This outfit. You guys. Oh my gooosshhh. I absolutely love outfits that incorporate different shades of the same color. That is one of the many reason why I am so in love with this outfit. Brown and tan and gold, oh my! You would not believe the awesome steal I got on this dress! I’m talking less than $9 people! And no, it was not thrifted. I had been eyeing it for quite some time (I’m talking over six months), and it finally went on super sale during the summer. I snatched it up quickly and patiently waited for the first chilly day I could don it with my cream turtleneck. This is one of those outfits that just puts a little pep in my step and makes me feel really good about myself. I think it’s the combination of feeling a little more dressed up than normal and also wearing some of my favorite shades for my coloring. As soon as I saw this dress way back when I knew there would be a multitude of outfits I could style with it and I can’t wait to wear them all! Hope you guys are having an awesome Friday!
Being from a colder area, I know the full reality of a true “spring” wardrobe. This kind of wardrobe includes layers, light sweaters, and jeans (as opposed to cropped pants). As much as I’d love to dress in cropped pants, tees, and other spring pieces you might see on girls from the south or the west coast, it’s just not realistic for where I live. We are still receiving snow flurries and temperatures below 40 degrees. I learned my lesson the other day when I tried to cuff my jeans and forgo a jacket. Needless to say, I was longing for my fuzzy socks at home.
So, I decided to do a celebrity-inspired “look for less” based on the picture above. I know it’s from quite a while ago, but I still think it could be used for inspiration this spring. This is an excellent outfit for those of us transitioning from freezing cold temperatures to just mildly cold temperatures (rather than warm temperatures). I love how it incorporates the light colors of spring, while remaining practical by including a light sweater and a jacket for layering. Personally, I would opt for a solid sweater instead of the striped one she is wearing in this photo. Of course, I love the scarf because I love everything leopard print. I’m sure the pieces she is wearing are way out of my price range, so I found some cheaper alternatives. This way anyone can recreate the outfit without ruining their budget. I tried to include a cheaper option and one that is a bit higher up on the price scale. What do you think of Rosie’s outfit?
