Winter White

So far 2017 is kicking my butt. As I mentioned in my last post, Adam and I kicked off the year pretty sick. Then last week we both got our wisdom teeth out…yes, on the same day. That was pretty interesting to say the least. And by interesting I mean I never want to do something like that again. Needless to say, it’s been quite a process trying to recover, and we’re still not fully there yet. But we’re pushing through, thus a new outfit post.

Ladies, the idea of packing away our white clothing after labor day has been tossed out the window! I love the idea of white, cream, and ivory hues in the winter. It looks so fresh and clean, especially when there is snow on the ground. I think the trick is to find pieces that aren’t BRIGHT white, otherwise they will look too summery in the cold months. I tend to reach for dark clothes in the wintertime, as I’m sure most of us do, but I’ve been trying to make it a point to reach for my light colored clothing as well to brighten up the dull and dreary days of winter.

The Way to Go

Whenever I don’t know what to wear, putting on an all black outfit is always the way to go. It’s chic, simple, and classic. Not to mention black is supposed to be slimming, of course. Wearing black always makes me want to sport a bright red lip for some reason, and this lip stain is my absolute favorite. Even when it starts to wear off after a while and you have to reapply, it looks even better the more coats you put on. I love this outfit for its simplicity with a classic turtleneck and black jeans. The vest is a great way to add texture to this simple outfit. What’s your favorite go-to outfit?

Red lips and leopard print are a must for fall and winter in my opinion. Let’s be honest, leopard print is always a must for me. My mother-in-law bought this sweater for me last year and it is so cozy! I paired it with one of my quilted vests for some added warmth on one of the chillier days we’ve had so far. You can’t go wrong with an all black outfit, but I wanted to add just a touch of color for some interest (even if that “color” is gray). Whenever I wear black, I love to pop on some red lipstick and this one is my favorite. Oh and of course I had to get a picture with my favorite girl!

Blogging on the Go

Another quick blog post while I’m working out of town. I wasn’t able to really even get too many pictures of my outfit (hence the singular photo), but these are all pieces that I’ve posted on here before. The only “new” item is the white blouse, but that’s a pretty standard piece. I really love the look of a collared shirt with a cardigan or under a sweater. I think it instantly makes an outfit dressier. Of course, I made life a little simpler by rewearing (is that a word?) my layered necklace from yesterday. Do you have that one item that you wear with a multitude of outfits?
